Environment & ClimateThroughout Our Products’ Life Cycle
We consider aspects such as energy consumption, material use, durability, and maintainability throughout the entire value chain of our systems.
Raw material procurement
The foundation that supports us
Through our Supplier Code of Conduct, we commit to adhering to environmental standards and human rights in our procurement activities. Our choice of materials focuses on recyclable metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, which we source primarily from Europe. We use a legal registry to ensure that we comply with legal requirements when procuring raw materials.
Production & building systems
The phase where we make an impact
At our headquarters, we have been using 100% green electricity since 2020, supplemented by our own photovoltaic system, geothermal energy, and wood chip-based heating. At the same time, our Integrated Management System (IMS) ensures that occupational safety aspects are consolidated and continuously improved. In production, we rely on energy-efficient building technology featuring heat recovery, LED lighting, and smart climate control systems, which we consistently implement in new buildings.

Operational phase
Where performance matters
During the operational phase of our machines at the customer’s site, we pay particular attention to energy consumption, space requirements, process stability, and the suitability of various packaging materials. As we continue to advance our technologies, we incorporate these aspects into our development and consulting processes. For example, we advise on alternative packaging materials, test them for machine compatibility, and work together to develop application-specific solutions.

End of life
Where the end becomes a new beginning
At the end of the operational phase, the modular design and material composition of our machines facilitate disassembly and the replacement of individual components. Primary materials such as steel and aluminum can generally be fed into established recycling processes. Many Pester systems remain in service for over 20 years. This is made possible, among other things, by regular maintenance, retrofits, and adaptations to changing requirements. In addition, we explore take-back and spare-part concepts to further improve the management of machines and components at the end of their useful life.
