For more than 120 years a family-owned company, pester pac automation stands for tradition throughout time. Decades of experience in German engineering guarantee expertise, flexibility and utmost investment security.

1888

Emil Pester Platinenfabrik is founded by Emil Pester in Chemnitz, Saxony.

1940

After the death of Emil Pester, his son, Karl-Hermann Pester takes over as the 2nd generation to run the company.

1945

During the air raids, the factory in Chemnitz is severely damaged. Karl Pester, the founder’s grandson decides to look for a new site in the western part of Germany.

1955

A new factory is built in Wolfertschwenden in which the production of die-cut sinkers is launched.

1972

Development of the first stretchbanding machine.

1978

The product line is expanded to include the newly developed full overwrapper.

1983

Representing the fourth family generation, Thomas Pester becomes the new owner of the company.

1987

Case packers complete the product line.

1995

The first cantilever-style case packer is developed and patented.

1999

Development of the most compact end-of-line packaging cell that includes stretchbanding, case packing and palletizing.

2001

Grand opening of the new award-winning factory and administration center at Wolfertschwenden on May 19, 2001.

2002

Introduction of a new corporate design. The modern corporate logo, "pester pac automation" is symbolic for the evolution of the company into an international full-line provider.

2003

Patent registration of the newly developed film splicer for a fully automatic reel change on any film packaging line.

2005

Introduction of a new machine generation in a modular design.
Presentation of the new modular Top Loading concept.
Introduction of a pick-and-place "pac robot" robot generation.

2007

First track-and-trace solution for the biotechnology branch.
Market leaders - dual-lane stretchbander packs 100 collations per minute.

2008

Intelligent robot cell for depalletizing / palletizing.
Consistent track-and-trace system for pharmaceutical lines.
Compact case packer for small batches.
Full overwrapping unit for single cartons with 120 cycles.
